Important informations: first treatment for further preservation Importation of trophies in your home country

To carry the sense of pleasure from the placeofadventure to your livingroom and not to get into troubles please read the following information carefully.

I) First preperation for further preservation
This first step contains boiling and cleaning the trophy roughly or salting the skins and capes and conserving it roughly.
Importing trophies to the European Union, these have to be disinfected and bleached with hydrogen peroxide (H²O²) and have to be packed each in transparent synthetic material. Skins have to be salted and dried and have to be packed in transparent synthetic material well.

II) Second preparation for further preservation
Before beginning your journey to Eastern European or Asiatic countries we recommand to contact us. To make the right first preperations when you have obtained the goal of your adventure, instruct your guide or outitter immediately either you want a lifesize trophy or a shoulder mount..

a) Lifesize trophy and rugs
We recommend to follow the instruction of figure 1.

b) Shoulder mount
We recommend to follow the instructions of figure 2. Please take care that the cape is long enough which means overlapping the shoulder blades.

III) Importing tpophies
Always before starting a hunting journey, please inform youself if the legal regulations of your home country allow you to import the trophy. As each country has different regulations and as the regulations are changed very often please feel free to contact us. We will be glad to help you and to show up the respective general conditions.
Impoting trophies to countries of the European Union the Washington Convention on International Trade for Endangered Species has to be respected.
Animals, listed in appendix I or A (e.g. leopard or elephant in some countries) need a valid CITES from the (animal's) origin country and an Austrian goverment permission for importing it to Austria. We as well as your outfitter can organize these permissions.
For animals listed in appendix II you need an exporting permission from the (animal's) origin country.

IV) Shipment of trophies
After preparation the trophies for the journey and organizing the necessary export permits it will take about 2 to 5 months until the trophies will be forwarded. If CITES is needed necessarily, we or your outfitter could organize them for you. If you wish, meeting the costs, we offer you to manage the clearing and settlement of the trophy's import and the preservation.

V) one more advice:
Especially in Africa and North America it happens that hunters are contact to prepare their trophies in the hunt country. Based on experience we dissuade to do this. The offers seem to be most convenient. These offers do not include any warranty especially regarding quality or the period of delivery. Furthermore the transportation costs rise up as well as you must pay more duty for the mount. For that reason I recommend to contact us first.
